Cataract Surgery Costs/ Cost of Cataracts Surgery in Nashville, TN

Most insurance carriers cover the cost of cataracts surgery, but understanding your policy can be difficult. To help you plan for your cataract surgery, Jeffrey D. Horn, MD, of Vision for Life provides the costs of cataract surgery for the residents of Nashville, Brentwood, Bellevue and the surrounding communities of Tennessee.

Your medical and vision insurance may cover cataract surgery costs, but understanding your out-of-pocket expenses and the limitations of coverage can be confusing. The insurance specialists at Vision for Life will explain your benefits and what portion of the cost is your responsibility. The first step is to schedule a consultation for a cataract evaluation. Dr. Horn explains your options, and together, you develop a treatment plan that meets your individual cataract surgery and vision correction needs. After the appointment, we will have the information we need to determine your out-of-pocket costs.

Understanding Insurance Coverage for Cataract Surgery

If your medical or vision insurance covers cataract surgery, the costs may be limited to a specific type of replacement lens. If you choose a different type of lens, your out-of-pocket costs will be higher.

What are the Advantages of Multifocal Lenses?

Cataract surgery that is covered under insurance includes the cost of a standard replacement lens. The lens will restore your vision that has been lost due to clouding and loss of flexibility in the natural lens. If you want to combine your cataract surgery with a procedure for vision correction that will eliminate the need for eyeglasses, you may want to consider multifocal lenses. The lenses will cost more out-of-pocket as they are not covered by insurance, but you realize a savings in eyeglasses, reading glasses and contact lenses.

Costs of Cataracts Surgery

Vision for Life offers three levels of cataract surgery. We explain the costs of each option after your consultation.

  • Broad-range Vision Package with Cataract Removal
  • Focused Vision Package with Cataract Removal
  • Basic Lens Package with Cataract Removal

With the basic lens package, your out-of-pocket costs includes your co-payment and deductible. Your portion of the cost is higher with the broad-range and focused vision packages.

With upgraded packages, included is LASIK enhancement if needed within the first year.
